Basic Rules

From the proceeds received, the League will payout $20 to the owner whose team scores the highest number of points each week, $15 to the team owner whose team scores the second highest points each week, $10 to the team owner that scores the third highest points and $5 for the team owner that scores the fourth highest points (total weekly point payout for the year will be $50*17 weeks or $850, leaving the rest of the fees for the league to divide up as described below at the end of the season). In case of ties each week, the prize money will be divided evenly (i.e. if two teams tie for 2nd and 3rd then they will split $25).

Standings will be maintained on a point basis. The League champion will be the owner whose team has compiled the most points at the end of the regular season. In the event of ties, a tie breaking procedure will be implemented. The tie breaking procedure used to determine the final League standings is short and sweet:
"The winner of a tie is the owner who drafted later in the first round of that year's annual draft."

All fees due to the League Championship Fund will accumulate throughout the season. The fees due by each owner must be paid to the League Commissioner prior to the start of the first game of WEEK 10. The League Championship Fund will be distributed to the team owners in order of highest points accumulated. The tie breaking procedure is used in the determination of placement (standings).

The League Championship Fund is allocated as follows:

  • League Champion - 50%
  • Second Place - 25%
  • Third Place - 15%
  • Fourth Place - 10%
  • 5th on down - 0%

Draft

Any player, currently signed or not, may be drafted (however, they must be in the league player data we obtain from Quickstats to be found in our database) or pickked up during the season. The two Reserve positions allow you to pick up any position players you like for your roster. We do not draft the reserve positions. Reserve player requests may begin immediately after the last player is drafted but must be done as described in the Reserve rule. Trades may also begin immediately after the draft but must follow the trade rules below. Draft time limits are 2 minutes per position for the first 8 (1-8) rounds and 3 minutes per position for the last 8 (9-16) rounds.

Roster Moves

During the year an owner may add new players to his roster by selecting a player from the pool of un-drafted players remaining in the NFL. All roster moves will be made using the "Request Move" selection on the web site. Roster moves must be submitted by the roster move deadline for the week. The roster move deadline is at midnight- (00:00:00) PACIFIC TIME- of the day of the first game of the week. The roster moves that do not take affect immediately are processed automatically at 1:15 am. For example, weekends with Sunday/Monday only games means roster moves can occur up to 00:00:00 Sunday morning. WARNING: Don't push it- the web site checks the time during the entire roster move process, if the time crosses midnight before you finish, the move is rejected. Check the web site for the specific day of the freeze (midnight of the day of the first game that week). Each owner must pay attention to these dates as there will be no reminders sent out. The dates are posted on the web site. In the case where more than one team wants to pick up the same player, the team placing lowest in the previous single week standings will get the disputed player. If the previous week standings do not break a tie, then the week prior to that will be used. If the tie continues to stand, the team selecting latest in the first round of the draft will get the disputed player. Roster moves may commence immediately after the last pick of the draft with the deadline for week one as described above. The cost to select a new player during the season shall be $5 and that $5 will be put into the championship fund. When a new player is selected, the owner must release a player from his existing roster who is playing the same position as the new selected player. Any released player may be selected by any owner beginning the following week unless the player is released during the week by one of the immediate roster move types, in which case the player is in the free list and is available.

  • Moves from Roster to Reserve/Reserve to Roster occur immediately (within the roster move deadline) and cost $5.
  • If you change your mind and move the same two players back to their original position, you will be charged again- it was your choice to move them in the first place and you pay for both moves.
  • A Drop from your roster to the free list, replacing them from your Reserve is done immediately and costs $5 (making the dropped player available in the free list for that week).
  • A straight drop from Reserve is no cost and happens as soon as you do it (making the player available in the free list for that week)
  • Trades are done immediately after the second owner confirms the trade.
  • When you drop a player to the free list and replace him from your Reserve it costs $5.

Trading

Trades will be allowed between owners only during the first 9 weeks of the season. Trades are made by clicking on the "Request Move" button and specifing a trade. The other team owner must login the the web site and confirm the trade in order for it to be completed. As soon as the confirmation is done, the trade is completed, there is no waiting until the roster move deadline that week. Each trade requires only one player from each team with matching positions. You may submit as many trades each week as you like with one or multiple teams. Each team involved in a trade is only charged $5 for the week. Example: if you (Team C) trade a QB with Team A, a WR with Team A, and a RB with Team B, Team A, Team B and Team C will be charged $5 that week (yes, Team C and Team A made two trades but are only charged one $5 trade fee that week). The $5 fee per team involved (that is the complete transaction between the teams involved, regardless of the number of players) will be paid to the championship fund. The trade may occur anytime during the Roster Move time window. Trades occur immediately after the second Team Owner confirms the trade. Trades may be nullified by the commish if he feels there is illegal "stacking" occurring.

Reserve Players

Each team has two reserve positions. You may (during the roster move window) move players between the active roster and the reserve positions. You may add a player directly to a reserve position. Each reserve position change/move costs $5. Players on the Reserve list may be traded (moved from one team's Reserve List to another team's Reserve List or active roster as long as the position matches).

LINEUP Deadline:

You must enter your line-up on the WEB SITE by the posted line up deadline(s). We use the schedule table from Quickstats to dynamically build the game dates and times table. This means scheduled game times are set from the official NFL site, just formatted by Quickstats. Some games are 1:05 or 1:15, you have up to game start time for line up changes for player position represented in that game. Please note: The networks have the option of changing games in the second half of the season and that means games times for you FFL Tema will change. The netowrks have until Friday of that week to make the change known. So, pay attention! Line up changes are ALLOWED up to game start time. The time of the next game to start is always on the navigation bar on the web site. Line Up Changes are ALLOWED to any and all positions where none of the players games have started for the week. For example, if your 4 WRs are on DEN, GB, NYG, and NYJs, and these teams play each other on Sunday and Monday nights, you will be able to select your WRs up to game start time on Sunday night. The same goes for all positions. Your line up changes must be completed PRIOR to game start time for any player at the position you are changing.

Use the "Change Lineup" Web Page to make the line up changes.

In all cases of an owner not submitting a lineup in time, his previous week's line-up is used to determine which players start. The inital lineup each season is the order a team is drafted, by position (i.e. the first two RBs drafted by a team will be the starters unless a line up is submitted by the owner prior to the first line up deadline). It is the responsibility of each team to verify the points for his team that are on the result sheets for each week. The last word on points for the league is the Quick Stats Service.

Strange Play Scoring:

When strange things happen that result in a score, the QuickStats service (the source of our Stats) has the final word on the score. The QuickStats site has some interesting discussions on strange plays and how they are scored.
